Wedding Photography Sandhole Oak Barn …
Had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of James and Nicky recently. I’d worked with James through his advertising agency on my fashion and commercial photography side. So when James proposed to Nicky I got the call to ask if I would photograph their wedding. Well the answer was of course yes and already knowing James I knew he would feel more relaxed with me taking the photographs . Hopefully he thought I was a half decent photographer too.. 🙂
Before the big day James and I arranged to meet at Sandhole Oak Barn to go through the finer details of the day and familiarise myself with the venue. The most important part of this meeting was of course to meet Nicky the bride to be, after all it is mainly the brides day , sorry James 😉 ..
The Wedding Day
The wedding day soon arrived and both James and Nicky were getting ready there. Thankfully there’s plenty of room so they wouldn’t bump into each other. Sandhole is a perfect venue with stunning scenery, which made my job so much easier. From the beautiful ceremony room to the lake, it really is perfect for all you bride to be’s looking for the right venue.
I started off the day with the the bride getting ready and as you can see they were great fun to photograph. James showed up a little late as on the day as his beloved car broke down but it didn’t dampen his spirits after all there are more important things in life than cars …. right 😉
The civil ceremony was next and as i’ve mentioned before I love these shots as you get the natural images I strive for and James and Nicky didn’t let me down. A ceremony packed with emotion, as it should be. After the ceremony it was the bride and groom shots on the stunning grounds of Sandhole along with the group shots.
My day wasn’t over just yet as the speeches followed, again a great opportunity for the relaxed shots. Finally it was time for the first dance and James and Nicky had prepared a routine, James can definitely throw a few moves as can Nicky. I half expected to hear Duran Duran as I know James is a big fan , as am I but they stuck to tradition , just as well really 😉
