Wedding Photography Didsbury House …
As a Manchester wedding photographer covering Manchester there is always the slight chance of rain. He said in a rather sarcastic tone ;). Well this particular British summers day in July the rain decided it wasn’t going to stop not even for a minute.
I didn’t let this deter me as I have many ways to overcome the dreaded rain . I also had a fantastic bride and groom in Simon and Jaden who kept there spirits up, and also a fantastic wedding venue in The Didsbury House Hotel.
The Bride and Grooms Preparations …
The day started for me at Chorlton nr Manchester. Jaden the bride to be‘s home for the all important shots of her getting ready … The groom was not forgotten at his home nearby. Can’t forget the groom now can we !! 😉
With the mornings shots completed it was on to the wedding venue. The Didsbury House Hotel was the setting for the wedding ceremony. With there sister venue Eleven Didsbury House hosting the wedding breakfast. They are literally a few places down on the same street so no mad dash for me, just a brisk walk. Still gets me out of breath though, need more exercise;) …
Love these venues absolutely perfect for weddings. Idyllic gardens and interesting features. I’ve also done a number of fashion shoots there too, so I’m familiar with the surroundings. Have a look at my fashion blog side for more on that. Back to the wedding of Simon and Jaden …
The wedding ceremony …
Arriving at the hotel the rain I’m afraid was still coming down, so brollies were at the ready. Jaden arrived and I took my place to photograph the main event , the wedding ceremony. Always a favourite of mine to get the natural emotion of the day.
After the wedding ceremony I then had to come up with ways of avoiding the rain . Firstly another favourite of mine was the confetti. Carefully lining up all the guests the bride and and groom made a quick dash through .. Really pleased with the result and they didn’t get too wet at all. Don’t think they would have minded anyway as they were very easy going throughout the day … With the rain still coming down I sadly couldn’t take advantage of the gardens but instead took the bride and groom inside. Love the interiors of the hotel and got some great shots of them… A big relief, I always find a way 😉 …
The Wedding Breakfast …
The wedding breakfast was a beautiful setting and the speeches were before the meal. Not as much time for nerves then , always the best way in my opinion .. The speeches complete and the wedding breakfast done it was time for the first dance. Simon and Jaden has a guest dancer in there daughter. She don’t want to feel left out . One of my fav shots of the day…
So even though the great British weather kind of let us down , it didn’t dampen the spirits or the photographs. A great couple and a great day …
